BMS Alliance Webinar | Securing cell supply: navigating external dependencies in European battery projects

Mark your calendars! On October 2, 2025, from 9:30 to 11:00, BMS Alliance partners will gather for their third joint webinar, dedicated to European battery cell market’s dependency on external suppliers.

The webinar
There is no doubt that the research and development on batteries in Europe requires a continuous and prioritised focus to achieve the electrification goals. Moreover, the manufacturing capability needs to take a leap to compete with other continents so that the batteries can be made in Europe as per own demand.

However, battery research projects in Europe often face the challenge of acquiring high-quality European cells, as it is much cheaper and faster to purchase cells from outside Europe, which is not desirable.

The webinar will explore this topic with the four BMS Alliance projects (NEMOENERGETICBATMAXNEXTBMS). They will share their experiences and engage in a discussion with the audience on common problems and potential solutions. Among the speakers:

  • Md Sazzad Hosen, Research Professor and Senior Researcher, MOBI – Electromobility Research Group, VUB (NEMO)
  • Bruno Rodrigues, European Project Manager, AVESTA (BATMAX) – TBC
  • Hoang Anh-Tai, Public Affairs Officer, Forsee Power (ENERGETIC)
  • Markus Berger, Senior Project Manager, Robert Bosch GmbH (NEXTBMS)

More information and the full agenda will be available in the coming days.
