Why NEXTBMS?
The overall NEXTBMS aim is to develop advanced battery management systems (BMS). EDF is heavily involved in the worldwide development of battery systems, to increase the share of intermittent renewable electricity production, but also to strengthen electricity networks and offer our customers innovative services.
The technical and economic optimization of the use of these batteries requires new-generation control systems, which will be studied and developed as part of the NEXTBMS project.
What in NEXTBMS?
EDF R&D teams will be involved in the NEXTBMS project. EDF R&D has extensive experience and test laboratories in the field of batteries.
EDF’s contribution will primarily be to provide typical models of battery use in the field and then to help define technical requirements. EDF will also take part in laboratory tests to validate the project’s innovations.
“The NEXTBMS-project will contribute to build a net zero energy future with electricity and innovative solutions and services.”
